Hasbro and Paramount Pictures are developing the first GI Joe spin-off movie, based around the character Snake Eyes.
The film has been linked to Evan Spiliotopoulus the name behind the script for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast movie and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner will serve as one of the producers on the Snake Eyes movie, according to reports. Last year, the company said it was looking to reboot the GI Joe film franchise with a more ‘millennial approach.’
Snake Eyes is one of the original figures in Hasbro’s line of GI Joe: A Real American Hero toys, which debuted in 1982. The ninja commando is one of the franchise’s most popular characters.
Snake Eyes was played by Ray Park in Paramount’s live-action film GI Joe: The Rise of the Cobra and its sequel GI Joe: Retaliation.
